WHAT ARE DERMAL FILLERS?

Dermal fillers are small injections of gel, typically made up of hylauronic acid, that fill in wrinkles and add volume to soft tissue.

WILL I BRUISE?

With any injectable treatment, there is a possibility of bruising. Bruising can be minimized by avoiding medications and products that thin the blood, such as aspirin, fish oil, ibuprofen and alcohol for a few days prior to your procedure/treatment. You can pre-treat yourself with both oral and topical Arnica, a homeopathic remedy. Arnica can lessen or reduce the chance and severity of a bruise.

WHAT TO DO AND AVOID BEFORE DERMAL FILLER TREATMENT?

In order to reduce the amount of bruising and/or swelling from the injection sites, please follow the instructions below. Avoid blood thinning over-the-counter medications such as Aspirin, Ibuprofen for 1 week prior. Avoid supplements including St. Johns Wort, ginko biloba, primrose oil, garlic, ginseng, and Vitamin E for 1 week Avoid topical products such as Tretinoin (Retin-A), Retinols, Retinoids, Glycolic Acid, or any "Anti-Aging" products for 3 days prior Avoid waxing, bleaching, tweezing, or hair removal cream on the area to be treated for 3 days prior Do not drink alcoholic beverages for 24 hours prior to treatment If you have previously suffered from facial cold sores, there is a risk that the needle punctures could contribute to another eruption of cold sores. Do not use dermal fillers if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, are allergic to any ingredients, or suffer from neurological disorders. Please inform us if you have any questions about this prior to your treatment

WHAT IS THE RECOVERY TIME?

Immediately after the treatment the treated area can be slightly swollen and red. Some patients may also experience bruising around the injection site. This is a normal result of the injection, and it generally goes away in 72 hours. We provide all patients with ice and topical Arnica (if appropriate) which helps alleviate bruising and swelling. We also recommend patient avoid (if medically appropriate) blood thinner like Ibuprofen or Aspirin, as these can increase the risk of bruising.

HOW DO DERMAL FILLERS WORK?

Fillers basically restore lost volume to your face and plump areas, so that deep set lines are smoothed.

DOES IT HURT?

When treating wrinkles, pain relief is usually not needed but can be easily achieved with topical anesthetic. However, dermal fillers themselves are formulated with lidocaine (a local pain killer), and so the area is actually numbed as it is being injected. The vast majority of patients report little to no discomfort.

ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?

Every patient is different, but as most dermal fillers are made of bio-compatible hyaluronic acids or calcium microspheres, there’s no allergic reaction as a rule. Some patients may experience mild versions of the following: Slight redness Swelling Itching Bruising Pain or tenderness. The reactions are generally mild to moderate and usually disappear shortly after injection. They typically resolve spontaneously within one or two days, but for some treatments they may last longer.

WHAT TO DO AND AVOID AFTER DERMAL FILLER TREATMENT?

Immediately after the treatment, there may be redness, bruising, swelling, tenderness, and/or itching near the injection site. Avoid itching, massaging, or picking around the injection site. This is normal and generally disappears within a few hours to a few days. We will provide you with ice and arnica cream to reduce or resolve potential bruising Within 6 to 10 Hours of Treatment Avoid drinking alcohol or partaking in strenuous exercise, as it may result in additional bruising. Until the swelling and redness have resolved, avoid intense heat in the treated area(s). This includes sunbathing, tanning, saunas, hot tubs, or hot wax. Also avoid extreme cold such as skiing or other winter sports. Minimize movement of the treated area(s). However, if there is a visible bump, you can massage the area. Depending on the areas treated and the product used, you may feel "firmness". These areas will soften and settle with time (usually 1-2 weeks) Sunscreen and makeup can be applied, and the area can be gently washed with a gentle cleanser. .

WHAT IS REVOLAX FILLER

Revolax fillers are biodegradable, non animal, cross-linked pure hyaluronic acid fillers to correct facial wrinkles and to design face line. Manufactured by fully innovative technology, REVOLAX™ set new standards and imposed a pattern of quality, unreachable for most hyaluronic acid manufacturers.

WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?

Dermal fillers are injected into the skin and provide volume where volume has decreased. The results can be seen immediately.

CAN MEN USE FILLER?

REVOLAX is suitable for male and female skin and can give different results depending on the injection technique and the practitioner’s knowledge of male facial structures. One of REVOLAX’s stand out properties is its high viscosity which makes a thick and dense filler with a longevity of up to 18 months. These properties make REVOLAX the perfect choice for men looking for dermal filler treatments who are looking for a natural look without any downtime afterwards.

ARE THERE ANY RISKS?

Filler-related reactions are very rare, especially when they are professionally used. There are some reports of injection-related reactions that happen after any injection, like a bit of bruising or selling, which resolve on their own in a few days. Lips can be a little tender and there may be some swelling for a few days.

WHO CANNOT USE FILLER?

Dermal fillers should not be used in or near areas where there is or has been skin disease, inflammation or skin- related problems. We do not recommend the use of fillers or anti-wrinkle injectables whilst you are pregnant or breastfeeding. People with particular medical conditions, or those undergoing immunosuppressive therapy may not be good candidates for any treatments or procedures that require a skin injection procedure, due to risk of infection. It’s important to reveal all your medical history on your initial pre-treatment consultation so we can make an informed decision about your treatment plan.
