Since 1993, I've helped people build healthier lifestyles. Now, I deliver one-on-one training online, wherever you are. I have been certified by the American College of Sports Medicine and currently hold my Personal Fitness Trainer certification with the American Council on Exercise. I’m also a certified TRX instructor. I continually update my skills and draw from my experience,
including coaching in Northwestern’s Diabetes Prevention Program. I balance fitness, nutrition, and activity, and now I’m here to guide you virtually—offering personalized, safe, and professional support.

Jim Tribolet founded Chicago In Shape in 1993 out of the desire to share his passion for helping others commit to a healthy, rewarding lifestyle. He realized that many people feel more comfortable and motivated working one-on-one in privacy rather than a gym environment. Since then, Jim has helped a wide variety of individuals achieve their personal best by offering the tools, training and motivation to lose weight, build muscle, tone up, gain flexibility, increase endurance, burn fat, alleviate pain, reduce stress and shape their body.
How Does It Work?
The process begins with an initial conversation to discuss goals, health history, current fitness level, and any limitations or concerns. You'll be asked to complete a brief intake and health questionnaire before training begins so activities can be approached safely and appropriately.
Next comes an intake session to evaluate movement, available space, and any equipment already in the home. If needed, I can suggest some basic, cost-effective equipment to expand your training options.
From there, I provide personalized live, one-on-one online personal training sessions through live video (FaceTime, Zoom, or similar). Simple positioning of your device's camera allows me to clearly see movement and provide effective coaching.
Sessions may include strength training, mobility work, balance, core training, and cardio, depending on individual needs. I coach each session in real time, making adjustments as needed and ensuring proper form. Additional at-home exercises that you can do between sessions may also be provided to support steady progress.
